Diolch enfawr i bawb!

We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’ve had so far for the podcast and wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that I suggested to Neil that he should join me in creating an audio documentary of Welsh music. Little did I know how quickly things would escalate and we’d be agreed on an original format, have four podcasts recorded, the first of which being live, with hundreds of listens. featuring the first person we thought of when we came up with the idea.

I’ll forever be grateful to Dave and John for agreeing to come on the podcast. And while I’ve known both of them for a while, it was still nerve-wracking asking them.

To Patrick and Matt, who neither of us knew (apart from as fans of their respective talents), thanks for taking a punt on two former journalists and for the subsequent support of the podcast. Not to mention the Welsh cakes, Patrick.

And a big shout out to Sue Charles who gave us a plug when sitting in for Lisa Gwilym on BBC Radio Wales.

We’ve also had countless talented Welsh musicians and artists submit tunes to us to feature at the end of an episode. It just goes to show how much musical talent is out there in Wales and some people just need a platform to help get their music to a bigger audience. I hope that one day, the Welsh Music Podcast can be such a platform.

I must take the time to give a specific thanks to The Montagues who not only were the first band to get in touch asking to feature their tune ‘You Got It All‘ from their recent ‘Calibrate EP‘ but they also saved the day by letting us use the awesome intro riff from another track on their EP, Devils. We’re both expecting big things from the boys.

We’re both really excited to get this thing going and looking forward to seeing where it takes us.

Diolch enfawr i bawb, James x
